Welcome to our first of many editions of The Flames Team News! This is it's DEBUT! It has been a goal of mine to get a monthly team newsletter going for 2007 because this team is growing SO fast! We are one of the faster growing teams in the company and YOU are the reason!

That to me summarizes the definition of Team and I have to tell you it is my honor to be partnering and associated with the great members of the Flames Team! Each and every one of you are a part of the success of the whole team and I want to recognize you for your efforts, dedication and many accomplishments! You are the BEST and you amaze me every day!

This is going to be a shorter, sweeter version of what I'd like to see this newsletter develop into for our team. We will be looking for contributions from all of you. Share your stories, your successes, your ideas, pictures and more! We welcome your contributions and hope you consider doing so! Many of the new members of the Flames team have asked why our Yahoo Group is called The Florida Flames. Originally the group started in my home state of Florida with a core group of distributors. Many of the Florida Flames, those in my area of Southwest Florida are my original team mates and distributors dating back to 2005 and 2006!

Margie Mathisen is wife to my Dad, Jim, mom to myself and my siblings Jim and Wendy. Grandmother to my son Trevor and his two cousins, Jeremy and Jessica. And mom to some furry critters, Opi, Monty, Patchi and Sunny Tiger. Margie lives in Alva, Florida along the Caloosahatchee River. In addition to her Mia Bella business, Margie stays really busy as my father's sidekick as he is very community involved and politically active since his retirement from both the U.S. Postal Service and U.S. Coast Guard. She does lots of volunteer work and actively networks with the local Chambers and other civic and community organizations. Most recently she co-chaired the Lincoln-Reagan Dinner for 700 people where the keynote speaker was Newt Gingrich. It was a big undertaking!

Henry and Judy Roach live in Lehigh Acres, Florida. Henry is self employed and known to all as the "Carousel Man" and the one who can be counted on to make us all laugh. We've dubbed him team photographer as most of the pictures you see on the Florida Flames Yahoo Group from our local shows he took. He always has a funny joke and a smile! He is a woodworker and very creative. His pride and joy craft is making these wonderful wooden carousels with figurines, in many themes, complete with music. They are wonderful! Judy is employed by the Lee County Tax Collector as a computer specialist. Henry and Judy are parents to three adult daughters, Denise, Debbie and Donna. Their youngest two daughters, Donna and Debbie are twins or as Henry affectionately puts it sometimes "double trouble". Henry and Judy are also proud grandparents, avid crafters, bowlers and love to cruise the Carribbean. Judy is a talented needleworker and crocheter as well as floral designer. Both Henry and Judy are excited and looking forward to their next cruise of the Panama Canal. We often call Judy the "Mom" of the team or more like a great scout! "Be Prepared" is a great motto and whatever we need Judy comes up with an idea or the missing link. She is awesome that way!

Katie Bryce is known to all of us as "Katie The Candle Lady". Katie lives in Fort Myers, Florida and is also mom to some four footed babies including the infamous Roxy the Boxer and Jack, the Sheltie as well as two kitties. Both she and her other half, Henry, have been a vital part of the show team too! Katie has lots of direct sales experience and also has AVON and Homemade Gourmet businesses. She is a certified tax preparer and is busy this time of year needless to say! Katie is also very active networking within the local Chambers of Commerce as well as many women's and civic groups.

Our local team has really exposed our area to the wonderful Mia Bella Gourmet Candles by way of many festivals, fairs, craft shows, expos and the like. Whether it be individually or as a group we have done everything from smaller one day community events to our annual Lehigh Spring Festival which is an 8 day event and commitment March 16th-24th. We have fun, we work well together and we've had a lot of good times and laughs along the way. For those of you who've been around the team for awhile, you will recall Henry Roach's hysterical post to our Yahoo Group about crafting and building an ark...the eventful show of June 2006 where 8 inches of rain was dumped on us in less than an hour's time! We were some soggy Mia Bella distributors that day!

Among the many shows The Southwest Florida Flames have done and participated in are: The Edison Festival of Light, Lehigh Spring Festival, St. Raphael's Fall Festival, Alva Chili Festival, Jazz at Veteran's Park, Bark In The Park Pet Fest, Clewiston Sugar Festival, Calusa Humane Society Bluegrass Jam, Arcadia Watermelon Festival, Bluegrass for Hope, Taste of Lehigh, Lake Park Fireworks Festival, Lehigh Acres Freedom Fest, Avon Park Annual Fall Festival, Cape Coral Kid's Festival, Cape Coral Mango Festival, Boy Toy's Show at the Lee Civic Center, Calusa Humane Society's Christmas Boat Parade, Fort Myers Beach Shrimp Festival, Cape Coral Bikefest, LaBelle Women's Club Pet Festival, Cinco de Mayo in Cape Coral, Cape Coral Irish Festival, Myaka River Seafood Festival, Blue Crab/Blue Grass Fest of Charlotte County and the Country Fest of Charlotte County. How is that for a list of shows and experiences?

I am very proud of my local team and we have a great friendship and comraderie! With many more shows and experiences to come, we have grown so much! We have built a huge Mia Bella following around our area and I could not have done all these shows and events without the help and cooperation of the entire team! Many thanks Southwest Florida Flames and the best is yet to come!

My name is Terri and I am from Northeast Massachusetts. I have been married almost 11 years to my husband Jay and we have 2 wonderful kids, ages 5 and 3 1/2 years old. I have been a SAHM (stay at home mom) since my oldest was born. I just knew that after the long infertility journey we went through to have him, that there was NO way that I would ever be able to leave him, to go back to work. We made sacrifices, but it was worth it. Then my daughter was born 17 months later. In order to help the family, I started working nights. So it was like we were 2 ships that passed in the night. We never saw each other and it was so stressful on our family life. I stopped working because of health issues at the time. We moved a year ago and that along with the cost of living going up, I just HAD to get a job. We also needed a new car, the kids had activities and my husband was working TOO much overtime that we NEVER saw him.

I didn't want to go back to working at the mall 4-5 nights a week or work days and leave my kids. So, I started looking into home based businesses. I tried a few, but they just weren't what I was looking for. I wanted something that offered a product that everyone loved and was consumable. And I also wanted a company with a GREAT compensation plan, which was really hard to find. Then I found Mia Bella Gourmet Candles and what more can I say then "WOW I found THE ONE"! I tried the candles and they were EVERYTHING I was promised and MORE! I couldn't ask for a more supportive upline then the one I have. I am working from home at my pace. I love doing the home parties so I am doing those, along with craft shows and approaching other businesses that could also benefit from buying our product. I am also building a GREAT team of women and men. So between the residual income and the profit I am earning from selling the product, I am able to contribute to my family's needs and also still be home to raise my children. Like most families, our dream is to own our own home. And that dream seems so much closer these days, thanks to the opportunity that Mia Bella offers us. It's not a get rich scheme, but by working my business and sharing the product, I am seeing what Mia Bella CAN offer to me and so many others out there. I love working with my team to help them build their businesses and share in all their accomplishments. I feel so blessed in my life with a wonderful family and a business that will offer us financial security and independence. My family's future is VERY bright!!!
