THE FLAMES TEAM NEWS

Our Mia Bella Gourmet Candles Team Newsletter
July 2007 Edition

Happy July! The summer is rocking, far from the "lazy days of summer" and I'm hearing so many great stories about how everyone is lifestyling and building their businesses in their travels, family activities and more.

The Flames Team remains one of the fastest growing teams in the company thanks to all of you!

Summer is a great time to turn up the heat on your business! So many new opportunities that present themselves to build your business going into the fall and holiday candle seasons!

In June we saw two Regional Events with a good representation from our teams there and among the speakers.

So let's keep burning, earning and building throughout the summer months as we head towards Summer Fling in August in Wilkes-Barre as well as Mid States Conference in Topeka, Kansas. I know many are making plans to attend these events and can't wait to see you there! Bob Scocozzo always says "More Meetings Mean More Money". There is truly nothing like these events to inspire and motivate you. When you hear the stories, ideas and suggestions it gives you added momentum and excitement towards building your business to the next level. It's an experience like no other and a great investment in your business!

When I look at our group I see many up-and-coming leaders and the future superstars of Scent-Sations and Mia Bella! You all are fantastic!

Keep the Sizzle in your Summer and it'll pay off in a BIG WAY! Dream Big and Go For It!

KUDOS TO OUR FLAMES TEAM MEMBERS

The Summer has started in an awesome way for our team and there are some "Way To Go's" and Kudos for our team that I would like to share:

Congrats to Wendell Ward and Cris Balahadia who both achieved Diamond Distributor status in June! Congratulations to both! Many more of you are so close and we are looking forward to celebrating that achievement with you also!

Congrats to Top Company Retailers for June! How awesome is it that they were from the Flames Team? Patrick Calhoun was the top retailer on a company wide level and will be recognized in the company newsletter next month. Both Patrick and his wife Kristin are distributors on our team and they are a great example of pairing family with their Mia Bella business! Way to go!

To Kadye Ward, Diamond Distributor and Team Leader as well as JoAnn Shelton for sharing their stories at the Tupelo Southern Leader's Conference. You both were great! Thanks to the entire Ward Team who were at Tupelo! It was an honor to meet all of you and see such a great turnout from our team! I saw some shining superstars there and you all are fabulous!

To Blair Rendle for her great Candles 4 Kansas fundraiser. I've been told you did an awesome job speaking at the Charlotte Regional too! Way to go Blair!

Congratulations and thanks to all of you for a wonderful start to summer! You are all leading by example, inspiring your teams, doing a great job of sharing information and mentoring. Every day I am inspired by all of you and what you are doing with your businesses!

GETTING TO KNOW YOU
Distributor Spotlight on Sharlene Wade
Illinois
My name is Shar and I live in Illinois with my husband Bob, who spoils me and treats me like a queen. We have 2 dogs- Louie Houdini and KoKo, 2 cats- Orange Kitty and Calico Kitty, and 2 grandsons Julien Michael and Christian Nikola. I also have 3 grown up children- Amanda, David, and Rebecca.

I actually had three experiences with these candles before I became part of our amazing "family". The first experience was back around September 2005. I was reading an ad online, and in the signature line, I saw something about entering a free drawing for a free candle. I thought "why not? I like candles." So, I clicked on the link and it took me to a page to sign up for a free candle drawing. I had no idea what the name of the company was who sponsored the drawing or even anything about the type of candles I was entering to win, but I still signed up for the drawing. After I entered the drawing, I got an email from someone, and then a page with some information about candles. A short time after I received that email, I got a box in the mail- I won the weekly drawing from the company! (My name is on the list of previous winners). It was a Hot Apple Pie Candle! I burned it and then put it away for a while. When I took it out again to burn, it still smelled the same as it did when I got it, and it just didn't look like any of my other burned candles- interesting, I thought all candles looked the same when they were burned.

I still did not know much about the company I won the candle from, but I remember getting a few of those emails and just deleting them after reading them very quickly- I really wasn't interested in a business opportunity with candles. I finally emailed the person back and said if I was interested, I would contact the person later.

Fast forward about 3 months to about December 2005. I won an auction on Ebay for some business supplies for another business I was with, and when I got my item, there was this business card with a scent sample on it and the phrase "I would love for you to stick your nose into my business!" I thought- cute phrase, and smelled this sample- it was a zesty orange type scent called "Sweet Orange & Chili Pepper"- hmmm, I really liked that scent! I kept it on my computer desk, and kind of lost track of it, but the scent still lingered on. Well, I needed to do some cleaning to find my desk, and since I was not interested in selling candles, there was no need for me to keep that business card, so I threw it away, along with the zesty orange scent sample.

Fast forward another 6 months to June 2006. I discovered "online vendor parties"! How I found this party room, I can not remember, but I went to the party, and there were some ladies presenting their companies, and there were two ladies, Carol and Dawn, presenting information on this business about gourmet scented candles. Carol was talking about how she had just started and was so excited to be with the company, and her excitement was just so evident as she kept talking about everything the company had to offer. She mentioned one of the candle scents that they carried- Sweet Orange & Chili Pepper- HEY! I remember that scent- that was the scent that was on the business card that I threw away! She gave her website link during the presentation, and by the time her turn was over, I had gone to her website and ordered that candle along with a Lilac scented one. She said the scents were very realistic, and since I LOVE the Lilac bush outside our bedroom window, I thought I would see just how realistic that candle would be.

Well, not even a week had passed, and I received a box- it was my candles! Wow, that was fast, I thought. I opened up the box, and smelled both of the jars before deciding which one to light. All I could say was WOW- the Sweet Orange & Chili Pepper candle smelled just like that sample, and the Lilac candle smelled just like the Lilac bush outside our bedroom window! I lit one and let it burn for a while, and then blew it out and lit the other one and let it burn for a while- they smelled so good- I could not decide which one I liked more. I decided to burn each for a little while, and I was just so amazed at how they still smelled good all the way to the bottom of the jar, and when they cooled off, they just looked so much different than any other candles I had burned before. The jars burned evenly and cleanly all the way to the bottom! I emailed Carol to let her know I had received my candles, and how excited I was about them.

Fast forward a couple weeks after the party. Carol and I kept in touch. She sent me a couple of emails. I guess she must have sensed the excitement in my email to her. I started thinking to myself, hmmm, I really like these candles, but I still didn't want to sell them or get involved in another business. That thought kept going through my mind until the beginning of July. I started emailing back and forth with Carol about the candles, and then I got an email about her excitement with her 1 month anniversary. She had so much enthusiasm in her emails, and so I asked her a little more about the candles. I asked for her phone number and called her on my way to pick up my grandson. That evening, I went home and went to her website, and on July 12, I officially became part of the "family".

They say that "3 times is a charm", and in my case, it took 3 experiences and almost a year to see just what this company was all about. The first 2 times I experienced this company, the candles just weren't "calling me". The third time I experienced this company, Carol and her down home, sincere enthusiasm, was the one who was able to "call me". I know that we have many members in our "family", which is awesome, because Carol started just a little more than a month before me. Along with her sponsor Dawn, Carol has been such an inspiration for me. I have been able to get support and encouragement, and am working on moving out of my comfort zone, of course with the help of my mentors.

Hopefully, my story will inspire someone to take a look at what we have to offer, and take that next step and join our very fast growing family.

Sincerely,

Shar Wade

GETTING TO KNOW YOU
Distributor Spotlight on Melissa Conatser
Richmond, Kentucky

My name is Melissa Conatser and my husband, who is a truck driver, is Shawn. We have two little boys, Chris is 6 and Nick is 3. I work 2 JOBs, as a school bus driver and for my mom at her dog grooming shop. My husband and I work so many hours and still barely keep our heads above water. Our last "vacation" was over a year ago and consisted of a weekend trip, less than 2 hours from our house. Both of us are burned out and tired!

About a year ago, I decided that there had to be something better out there for myself and my family. I began searching around on the internet and ended up on Michele Cook's personal web-site. I joined a company with her and began following her around the internet to online parties and such, trying to get the hang of the online wahm business world because I did not even know such things existed. Michele mentioned that she was thinking about joining Mia Bella Candles. I had heard of it before and was even on someone's (couldn't tell you who it was!) autoresponder. For some reason, it just didn't appeal to me at all and I didn't give it much of a second thought. Michele told me that she was going to be in an online information fair for Mia Bella and invited me along. That is where I met my wonderful team and made the best decision of my life!

I joined Mia Bella on July 30, 2006. My business has had many ups and downs, but one thing that reamains constant is my love and passion for this company, the products and my team. I dream of the day that I can be home full time and I know that Scent-Sations is the company that is going to help me realize that dream. I am so honored to be on Dawn's team and love that we are all like on big family. I am honored to be here and am happy to be on such a wondrous journey with everyone.
