Hi Flames Team and Guests,
Wow it is hard to believe that Summer has flown by so fast and soon Fall will be in the air! Well maybe more so for you folks than me in Florida but even I am looking forward to a little bit of a "cool down". The children are back to school, giving Moms and Dads a little more time to regroup and focus on their business. And what better time because soon Fall and Holiday Candle Season will be upon us!
Even if your business was slower during the summer, now it's time to Fire Up Your Fall! We will be announcing a great new incentive program to build both your retail business and your distributor team...coming very soon on the Mia Bella Flames Yahoo Group!
I know I have talked to many of you and summer was slower than our normal pace for this team. Which truthfully is one of the beauties of this business is that we CAN take time off so to speak without a big quota looming over our heads. In a traditional home party plan, direct sales type company that would not be the case. Another great reason to be thankful for our great company because Candle of the Month qualifies us for all the benefits of our distributorship and we actually can take some time off!
I know the summer saw moves into new homes, a new marriage (congratulations Jenni Gausman!), changes in lifestyles and a couple of our team mates venturing out to find "second homes". It saw lots of great vacations (including my own travels this summer), some meetings where a few of us were actually able to get together and meet. It was a great summer for Trevor and I and I hope for everyone else too!
Summer also brought in our newest team Diamond in Deb Hogman who earned several honors for retailing both team wise and company wide as well. Congratulations Deb for an awesome summer and the start of your journey to the top of this company! It was a celebration of many Mia Bella Anniversaries as well as some impressive retail numbers coming out of the newcomers to the team and the MEN! I have to really recognize and congratule the male distributors on our team. You made an awesome showing this summer as far as retailing and the Top 20 does reflect it. Congratulations to all the guys of the Flames Team!
I know for me the Summer saw me logging 7,000 miles on our van to travel to new places, check out possible places for a move to add to our "Dream Board", several company functions and the honor of finally meeting many of you on this great team! It was a summer Trevor and I will never forget.
But I find myself thinking Pumpkin Spice now. Wasn't Pumpkin Cheesecake great? And yes even those Holiday scents thanks to the Hollyberry Balsam. I find myself shifted from summer mode of planting seeds to really wanting to share our great opportunity with everyone! There isn't a better time to get in this business and have a great "jump start" then to begin in the Fall and Holiday Candle Seasons. What you are sharing with your potential business partners is more than an opportunity but a GIFT they can give to themselves this fall and holiday season. One that could very well change their 2008 and beyond!
We are with the most incredible company with one of the best marketing and compensation plans out there. The added perk is we market the BEST candles out there too!
I am looking forward to seeing what the Fall and Holiday Candle Seasons bring to all of us on the Flames Team. The hard work and dedication will Fire Up Your Fall, I promise that! I know many of you have some big goals and plans with shows, home parties, fundraisers on the books etc. and I can't wait to see, hear about and celebrate all those successes on our team!
As Trevor always says The Flames Team ROCKS! You are a blessing in my life and I truly consider you all partners and friends in a great journey. Where the possibility thinkers can realize their dreams with the greatest smelling candles in the world! What more could you ask for right?
As we Fire Up Fall, know I am always here to help, assist and support you in the building of your business. I celebrate each of your accomplishments as much as my own and if we all work together there is nothing we can't do!

SUMMER FLING WAS INCREDIBLE!

What a great time we had at Summer Fling! We arrived in Wilkes-Barre on Sunday afternoon and unpacked at the hotel. Our next door neighbors (Terri Tavares, children Matthew and Caroline and Terri's mom Sandy McGovern) arrived about dinner time. After they unpacked we had a really enjoyable dinner together at Ruby Tuesday's. It was nice to finally meet Terri face to face after all our time in the business. Naturally the children, her two Matthew (5) and Caroline (4) were great company for my son Trevor (6) and they'd been looking forward to meeting for weeks before Fling.
Monday was registration and a quiet day until the evening Barbecue so we made the best of it. We all went to Corporate and did a plant tour with Carmen which was great! He is always so informative and delightful to be around and gives you so much insight into the inner workings of Scent-Sations and the product development.
Then we were off to pick up our registration packets and meet poolside for a little social time with other distributors. Jackie Ulmer hosted a get together on the back deck prior to the barbecue and we attended that. Then the barbecue itself was great as we had time to socialize with each other, many other distributors as well as my sponsors, Kellene and Bill VanDorn.
Tuesday was the official start of two days of absolutely great speakers on just about every topic you could think of with the business, from recruiting to networking to fundraising to retailing to home parties and even more! Everyone had so much to offer and actually there wasn't enough time for every speaker to get in all their great information. That is how much was shared at Fling!
Tuesday night was the Island Fare night outdoors on the deck and the kids were able to swim and socialize later in the evening so it was a great time!
It went by so fast and it was hard to believe we were already getting ready for the final dinner on Wednesday night. Everyone had a great time. Hard to decide whether the children or the adults had more fun!
I think that was true of the entire event as the three children became really good friends. Terri got them matching t-shirts that she had screened with Mommy's Mia Bella Helper on the pocket/chest area. Each day they had matching shirts, red, turquoise and yellow. The kids were thrilled, the adults enjoyed it as well. We had a lot of comments and compliments. Thanks Terri - I know Trevor loves his shirts and it was a dynamite idea!
The last night we enjoyed some really great dancing from the kids, Caroline, Matthew, Trevor and Savannah too! Caroline has some real moves, Trevor calls Matthew "Disco M" and Savannah knows the words to just about every song the d.j. played and sang along! We had a great time and the pictures I think tell the story.
It went by so fast, we learned so much and then it was time to say a sad goodbye until next year. Terri went back over to the plant to pick up her order on Thursday and got to spend more time with everyone and we got back on the road.
The only thing we were missing was....a lot of you! I am so glad that so many of you are committing to getting to the events. I promise you there is nothing like it, especially the big ones like Fling and Mid States! I know it's a sacrifice but it's really an investment in your business and your future. It's done so much for mine!
So why not start now planning for 2008? I know it sounds early but if you set a goal, make a budget, figure out what it takes and work to make it happen you too could be there with us! I would so LOVE that!

GETTING TO KNOW YOU - TEAM MEMBER SPOTLIGHT
Deb Hogman - Diamond Distributor - Cordova, Tennessee
My name is Deb Hogman. I am married to a wonderful guy for the last 18 years, Brian. We have ups and downs but I am a firm believer and everything happens for a reason. We have a smart and beautiful 16 year old daughter, Ashleigh. Our family has a love for animals. We love them all - currently we have 3 dogs (1 Border collie, 2 Shetland sheepdogs), 1 white mouse and 1 chinchilla. I work 40+ hours a week as a Billing Operations Administrator for a large Medical Practice for the last 12 years. I have worked hard to be successful in the corporate world and know I made it happen with hard work. My husband is disabled and stays at home and we are thankful for every day that he isn't in pain. To have so many problems you would never know.
I decided about two years ago to join my first MLM Company. Not necessarily for extra money (but that is always a plus) but to get out and meet some great people. I started selling "fun" products for adults. I was good at it. I could fill my schedule every weekend if I wanted to. There are many things with the company I did not like but liked my upline and was enjoying owning my own business. I was also becoming very successful with having a downline. I just did not like doing home parties and being away every weekend.
Well in May of 2007 I got an email from a fellow rep (Tina Dore) with the "fun" business. Then she emailed it was a mistake she didn't mean to email the reps (it was against policy to solicit reps from their company). Well, too late. I was already reading it and researching. Then I realized this is the same candles I buy from a lady here at the flea market once a year but the last few years she wasn't there. There wasn't anything on the candles on where to re-order. I love those candles. So, it made me read more. I decided to join and after researching and asking many questions decided to get the Fast Start Pak. When I got the Fast Start Pak I did my first test. I took it to my day job. Well, it was a hit. I sold 25 candles in one day. People love them.
Then I started getting questions on the company. Within a month I signed on three reps. I was hooked but what really sold me was when I got my first commission check. It was $175+ dollars and I wasn't even trying! It was more than my first two checks from the "fun" business. This did it. I decided this is the MLM Company for me. I can't believe the amount of training that is offered, the support from uplines, and the customer service department is always there. Mia Bella is what I want to do. I love the fact the market is open. I like that I can run my business how I want. I don't have to do home parties. I run my business recruiting, retail and fundraisers. I can't seem to get enough and even during the day at my corporate job I am listening to recorded conference calls in the back office. To date I have a great down line of 6 wonderful partners. I have reserved booths for 4 large expos. My first one is Sept 8 & 9, then two in October and one in November. Each one expects between 20,000 to 30,000 people. I am hoping this will be the next catalyst to grow my downline plus help my downline grow theirs.
I believe if we dream big and stay focused it can happen. I am hoping to be a Double Diamond by the end of 2007. I know with hard work and keeping focused I will be able to be one of those everyone is talking about earning $25,000/month. Why not! They are doing it! All I have to do is do exactly what they did!

Blair Rendle - Greensboro, North Carolina
Hello Fellow Teamies!!
I am Blair Rendle. I currently live in Greensboro,NC with my husband James. We just celebrated 25 years!!
We have two great children Jessica (21) and Michael (22). Jessica has a nine month old son (Luca) who is our first Grandchild!!
James and I have been involved in self employment for 22 years! I was 8 months pregnant and we joined Amway! That was in 1985.. told us to draw Circles! LOL... we decided we needed to sell products! So at 8 months pregnant I went from one apartment complex to another selling cleaning supplies!! Yep..
Talked to one apartment manager and she said: I will buy your cleaning supplies if you also provide the manpower to clean and paint the apartments!! I said "no problem"! I came home and told James what I had done.. He quit his job the next day and we were in business!! Cleaning and painting apartments.. That lasted for about 1 year.
Then we Painted custom homes! James was bored with apartments: so I went calling on home builders and got us a contract in a new sub-division. We ran 3 paint crews for the next 4 years. After that we went into custom trim work.
Anyway: We have always been a team! I go out and talk (get us in over our heads-LOL) and James figures out how to make everything work!!
We have also tried every type of Network marketing or MLM, and none of them ever worked out. It has become somewhat of a family joke! My children would always ask James: what is Mom into now! They always thought it was funnier than I did!!
I was introduced to Mia Bella in Feb of this year online! I joined without talking to James about it. I was worried he would say "not another one". I finally told him about two months later!! He was supportive from the beginning! We were talking one night about it and he looked at me and said: Honey, you have what it takes to do this!! You just have to stay focused and not give up! If you will promise me that then I am behind you 100%! Just let me know what you need from me... We can do this! You love Candles and you love people.. so lets GO!!
It has taken several months for us to find our footing! I have a deep passion and commitment to fundraising!! So that is where our focus has been at. We are just now seeing the fruits of months of hard work. We are both excited, but cautious! Wanting to stay on the path and keep the ball rolling with more!
I want to expand out some as well! I want to see our team grow, I want to see more Retail growth, and I want to experience other avenues in the business!!
I finally feel like I am doing exactly what God wants me to be doing. The Search is over!! What a peace that is just in itself!! To have that peace in my heart: I don't know if any of you have experienced what Im trying to explain.. but I have always known when I was not where God wanted me to be, or not doing what God really wanted me to be doing. It was a Restless Spirit! Ok.. I'll hush..LOL
Thank you for being such a great Team, a family! It is a wonderful blessing to be a part of this company and experience the support! The term Family: is NOT just a word spoken for the benefit of recruitment, but is actually experienced and heart felt!!
Everyone just needs to remember! A phone call can change the direction of your business and a new recruit gives you the opportunity to teach someone else to "Dream Again"!
